The Navajo Tribal Energy Company has appealed a permit denial for the No Name project, citing the importance of mining operations to the Navajo Nation's economy.
The Navajo Mine has operated under a mineral lease granted in 1957 that covers approximately 33,600 acres, according to a statement from NTEC.
