At 75, Jane Seymour maintains a purposeful energy through a fitness philosophy rooted in self-knowledge rather than trendy wellness culture.
The "Harry Wild" star's approach to staying active includes light weights, walking, Pilates, Gyrotonics and barre work connected to her ballet background. But she's equally clear about what she won't do: yoga.
"I'm way too A-type," Seymour said, explaining that her competitive instinct would turn a centering practice into another arena where she'd try to win.
Her commitment to sustainable vitality extends beyond exercise. She follows a Mediterranean eating approach focused on moderation and intention rather than strict diets, drinks moderately and eats seasonally.
When asked where her energy comes from, Seymour credits passion for her work rather than supplements or secret treatments. "I love what I do," she said.
Joe Lando, her former "Dr. Quinn, Medicine Woman" co-star, worked with her while she was 45, pregnant with twins and filming 12-hour-plus days. More than three decades later, reuniting for Season 5 of "Harry Wild" on Acorn TV, Lando says that energy remains unchanged.
"She's like the Energizer Bunny," he said.
Seymour's career demonstrates a cultural shift: a woman over 70 still being cast in complex roles, working at a high level and serving as an executive producer. Her on-screen reunion with Lando showcases a different kind of maturity. After seven years working together on "Dr. Quinn," the two had a brief romantic connection but chose friendship instead.
"The chemistry they still share on screen isn't about rekindling an old flame; it's about two people who know each other deeply," Seymour said.
Her philosophy balances respecting time's passage without surrendering to its diminishments. She listens to her body, knowing when to push and when to hold back—a practice of attention that matters more at 75 than it did at 45.
