Group 1 Automotive rebranded its Fort Bend Toyota dealership in October, formally bringing Sterling McCall Toyota Fort Bend under the unified Group 1 name.
The rebranding took effect Oct. 8, 2025, at the Richmond location on Southwest Freeway. According to Martin Morcho, general manager of Group 1 Toyota Fort Bend, the operational shift has been seamless for customers and staff.
"From the moment we adopted our new name, our customers found the same local team they know and trust, now with a clearer connection to Group 1's strength and resources," Morcho said. "The building's name changed, but what matters here remains the same: a consistent, comfortable, and transparent experience, whether someone is looking for a new Toyota, bringing their current vehicle in for service, or considering a trade-in."
Group 1 has owned and operated the Fort Bend County dealership for more than two decades. The rebranding marks a continuation of existing stewardship rather than a change in ownership. The dealership continues to serve Richmond, Rosenberg, Sugar Land and surrounding Fort Bend County communities from its location at 20465 Southwest Freeway.
The transition does not affect staffing, inventory, product lines or day-to-day operations. Customers continue working with the same local professionals now under the Group 1 banner.
Group 1 Automotive operates 250 dealerships across the United States and United Kingdom, representing 37 vehicle brands. The company's national rebranding initiative aims to create uniform naming conventions and consistent customer experiences across all locations.
The Fort Bend dealership is one of many Sterling McCall dealerships that have transitioned to the Group 1 name as part of the consolidation. The unified branding strategy is designed to give customers access to the company's scale, resources and operational standards while preserving local relationships and expertise.
Customers now have access to Group 1's unified systems for transparent pricing and online scheduling across all locations. The dealership continues to offer new and used vehicles, financing, service, parts and collision support to the Fort Bend County area.
