Cowboys cornerback Cobie Durant was sidelined in the second quarter Sunday after a collision with safety Markquese Bell during Dallas' 37-20 victory over the Commanders at AT&T Stadium.
Durant went to the ground while covering Commanders receiver Terry McLaurin in the end zone. Bell, moving backward to track the play, did not see the downed cornerback and stepped on Durant's lower body. Dallas trainers assisted Durant off the field, and he did not return.
Quarterback Dak Prescott set the franchise's all-time record for passing touchdowns in the victory. The Cowboys defense also forced a fumble on Commanders receiver Dyami Brown and held Washington to 10 points in the second half.
Dallas improved to 1-1 with the win, while Washington dropped to 0-2. Commanders quarterback Jayden Daniels suffered a dislocated elbow during the game.
Durant signed with the Cowboys this offseason on a one-year deal worth $4 million after four seasons with the Los Angeles Rams. He recorded 141 tackles and seven interceptions across 61 games with Los Angeles. He appeared in last week's loss to the New York Giants, recording one tackle and a pass breakup.
The Cowboys will assess Durant's status in the coming weeks.
