Escondido is getting its first major seasonal fall festival this month, with Boo Bash opening Friday at Mershops North County Mall and running through Nov. 1.
The six-week event will take over the mall's parking lot with what organizers describe as a 100,000-plus square-foot experience spanning five distinct zones. The festival will feature pumpkins for sale, hay mazes, a petting zoo, face painting and carnival games, alongside larger attractions like a 60-foot bounce pad and zorb ball stations.
"We're thrilled to bring Boo Bash to California for the first time," said Jack Bruce, executive producer and owner at 365 Entertainment Group, the company behind the event. "We chose Escondido because North County is a growing, vibrant community that deserves a large-scale fall destination of its own. Our goal is to create an affordable experience where people of all ages can come together and enjoy the best of fall and Halloween."
The festival will feature five themed zones with rotating entertainment, live music on Friday and Saturday nights and select movie screenings. Local food vendors and retail shops will operate alongside the main attractions.
Hours run Monday through Thursday from 3 to 9 p.m., Friday from 3 to 10 p.m., Saturday from 10 a.m. to 10 p.m. and Sunday from 10 a.m. to 9 p.m. Entry starts at $5, with additional attraction credits available for purchase at kiosks throughout the venue.
