LA Auto Show opens doors for 2026 industry summit on energy, autonomy, and entertainment

Registration is now open for AutoMobility LA 2026, the industry-focused day preceding the public Los Angeles Auto Show. The event kicks off Nov. 19 at the Los Angeles Convention Center, with the full auto show following for 10 days after that.

Organizers have structured the entire program around three pillars: energy, autonomy and entertainment.

"This is the place in the city where a company finds out how the rest of the world actually sees their work," said Terri Toennies, president of the Los Angeles Auto Show and AutoMobility LA. "This is where the products, collaborations, and conversations start that shape the next year. We're organizing everything around energy, autonomy, and entertainment because those are the things forcing the hardest decisions right now."

Los Angeles has served as the nexus for automotive industry discussions, as the largest vehicle market in the country. Autonomous vehicle fleets are already operating in everyday traffic rather than in controlled test environments, and the city's entertainment industry shapes how people think about cars before they enter showrooms.

The energy conversation encompasses vehicle fuel types but extends to infrastructure, household budgets and market preferences across California, which buys more vehicles across every powertrain type than any other state. Chevron with Techron is sponsoring this pillar of the conference.

Autonomy discussions have shifted from whether the technology works to what comes next. Questions now focus on household ownership and operation, small business applications with autonomous vehicles, and how software transitions from vehicles to factory floors. Los Angeles serves as the testing ground in real traffic and commerce rather than pilot programs. The autonomy track will bring together companies building the technology with regulators at a moment when clear answers remain elusive.

The entertainment sector's relationship with automotive companies has become genuinely commercial. Studios, platforms, game developers and content creators are shaping vehicle perception long before consumers visit dealerships. AutoMobility LA is treating entertainment as its own sector and creating space for both industries to meet.

Media accreditation is free for credentialed outlets. Industry professionals can register for $149 until Oct. 15, then $249 after that. The exhibitor list for first-time participants will be released at the end of October, with the full speaker lineup and main stage program in early November.

The Los Angeles Auto Show, which traces back to 1907, is among the oldest and most influential automotive events in the world. AutoMobility LA started in 2014 to create a space where the automotive and technology sectors could connect. Registration and more information is available at automobilityla.com.
