Registration is now open for Automobility LA 2026, the media and industry day preceding the Los Angeles Auto Show, scheduled for Nov. 19 at the Los Angeles Convention Center.
The event will organize programming around three pillars: energy, autonomy and entertainment. Organizers say these themes represent the fundamental forces reshaping the automotive industry.
Los Angeles is home to the nation's largest automotive market and active autonomous vehicle fleets already operating in daily traffic, giving the city outsized influence over how the industry evolves. When automakers, tech companies and suppliers gather here each November, conversations and announcements often set the tone for the entire sector in the months ahead.
"Few cities can host all three of these conversations simultaneously," said Terry Tonis, chair of the Los Angeles Auto Show and Automobility LA. "This is where companies learn whether their work is actually progressing, where product announcements happen, where partnerships get announced, and where the year's biggest debates often begin."
The energy pillar reflects California's unique position. Vehicle power sources have become simultaneously a fuel question, an infrastructure question and a household budget question. Chevron and Techron are co-presenting sponsors of the energy programming.
Autonomy in Los Angeles is no longer theoretical. Self-driving vehicles operate in daily traffic and everyday commerce, not just in controlled pilot programs. Automobility LA will examine what comes next: what families will own and summon, how small businesses will use autonomous delivery vehicles, and what happens to software after passengers exit and goods arrive.
Entertainment's role in automotive culture deserves its own conversation. In Los Angeles, cars have been characters in stories, symbols of aspiration and tools for narrative. Studios, broadcasters, game developers and creators shape public perception long before buyers enter a showroom.
Organizers are actively soliciting automakers, technology companies, suppliers and brands to submit announcements, propose main stage topics and suggest keynote speakers.
Media registration is free for certified and approved journalists. Industry registration costs $149 through Oct. 15, then increases to $249 from Oct. 16 onward. The 2026 debut vehicle list will be announced in late October, with the complete keynote and main stage schedule releasing in early November.
The Los Angeles Auto Show itself runs Nov. 20-29, 2026. Founded in 1907, it remains one of the world's longest-running and most influential automotive events.
