A 21-year-old man was killed and a 30-year-old was critically injured in a stabbing Saturday afternoon at Dyker Beach Park in Brooklyn, police said.
The NYPD responded to a 911 call at 1:50 p.m. near the intersection of 86th Street and 14th Avenue in the 68th precinct. Officers found both victims suffering stab wounds. EMS transported them to Maimonides Medical Center, where the 21-year-old was pronounced dead. The 30-year-old remained in critical condition.
The deceased victim's identity is being withheld pending family notification.
Police took a person of interest into custody, but details about the suspect's identity, background and any connection to the victims were not disclosed. The NYPD did not release information about a potential motive.
The investigation remains active. Police are urging anyone with information about the incident to come forward.
