Group 1 Automotive, the Houston-based dealership chain operating 250 franchises across the United States and United Kingdom, has rebranded Sterling McCall Collision Center of Clear Lake as Group 1 Collision effective Jan. 19, 2026.
The facility at 18160 Gulf Freeway in Friendswood, Texas, continues to serve the Clear Lake and Bay Area communities under its new name. Group 1 said the transition involved no changes to ownership, staffing, repair capabilities or daily operations.
"An accident is stressful enough without worrying about who will repair your vehicle, and this rebrand offers our customers the same trusted local repair team but with a clearer connection to Group 1's strength and resources," Lyza Postell, general manager of Lexus Clear Lake, said in a prepared statement.
The rebrand represents part of Group 1's expansion of its collision repair network to 32 centers nationwide. The company says the unification provides clearer branding, easier location identification, consistent standards and transparent pricing across the network.
Group 1's public materials emphasize consistent customer experience, including transparent prices and online scheduling at each location. The company's FAQ section notes that in most states, drivers can choose their repair facility, though insurance companies maintain preferred networks.
